  1. Browzine-Admin-tool for Library Administrators: with anonymized usage statistics

Can you offer an Admin-tool for Library Administrators where the admin can monitor (anonymized) usage statistics (e.g. lenght of usage, download number, journal hitlist, day/time of usage, from which pages the user come from e.g. if the Browzine-API is used mostly or another library page...)

    • Please add a search box to search the journals (ideally all in one go)

Also please ensure this search option searches new and old volumes and updates you when articles are published meeting your criteria. This would be great for academics and students alike. Seth

Add the ability for libraries to include their chat widgets / "Ask a Librarian" within BrowZine, so that users can ask for help locally.

        • Change system message when there's no match for a title or the title has no ISSN

If I search for a title in any of these categories

          * Not included in our BrowZine instance
          * Not included in our OCLC A-Z list
          * Does not have an ISSN

          I receive this message:

"No matches for <title>. Title may not be BrowZine enabled at this time, but still available at your library. Please click here to search for your title again at your library."

I would like for it to read:

"No matches for <title>. Please click here to search for the title in your library's journals list."

Please either change the message globally or allow customization…

          • Treat end dates of journal coverage in similar way to embargoed content

I believe you may already be working on this. Could content beyond an end date of coverage be shown in the same way as embargoed content so users can request articles in these later issues from the library? Posting this to get an update on when this is likely to go live. Thank you.

            • Filter Out "Accepted Manuscripts" from BrowZine until there is actual content available

Some publishers like Oxford and IEEE sometimes produce an "article in press" which does not lead to full text since the publisher has not yet posted the document. Suppress these items from BrowZine, if possible, so that users being alerted about their existence don't waste time chasing items not yet available.

                • Display not only articles, but also the section they belong to in TOC

Many journals have their articles grouped into different types (e.g. Research Article, Book Review, Original Research Article, Review Article etc.). In the original TOC of the journal this is visible and helps the reader to separate the different types of articles. However, in BrowZine this information gets lost. Is the a possibility to retain it? It would be a great help for our users.

                  • Add a warning for deleting My Articles collections in the app.

When you delete a collection in BrowZine web, you get this message: Are you sure you want to delete collection "Collection Name"? This will permanently delete this collection and all the articles it contains.

Can a similar warning be added when you delete a collection from the app? I deleted one today on my iPad and didn't realize I'd lose any articles that weren't associated with another collection. You could also add something to the warning suggesting that users should move/copy articles to other collections if they don't want to lose the articles.

                    • Customization options for homepage image

Provide options for libraries to select an image of journal titles representative of their holdings / user community. E.g. a medical library could select a stock image reflecting top medical journals while a liberal arts college could select an image reflecting top titles from a variety of disciplines.

                        • unread

Toggle for display "All" vs "Unread Only".

For some journals (e.g. Open Access journals like eLife or the Frontiers journals), the number of articles per issue can get huge, and BrowZine appears to sort them alphabetically by title. This can make finding the unread articles (with a blue dot) time consuming. It would be easier if it were possible to toggle between displaying only unread articles vs all articles.

There isn't currently a built-in function to close/exit the BrowZine app on a smartphone. As a work around, I had to restart my device. It is easy to see how such a feature would be very useful.

                            • Create a bookshelf that can be integrated into libguides, instead of the current practice of building a display from scratch.

I am a subject librarian for the School of Engineering. I have 8 subject guides corresponding to 8 disciplines. At the moment, the only way of displaying key journals in BrowZine is to build a table of titles from scratch. Instead, I would like to be able to create a bookshelf for each discipline, and integrate each bookshelf into the corresponding libguide.

                                • Would love to see holdings information when browsing so users don't have to load each one at a time to see if they can get full tex

At the moment you have to open each journal title to find out what access is available to the user. It would be much more intuitive to have this information at the browse page.

                                      • Provide support for searching for titles by abbreviation

Many users are familiar with standard abbreviations for their titles, so allowing the search to be able to translate these abbreviations into relevant titles would be helpful to them.
