Option to swap the current link to Third Iron support with a link to their own help page.4 votes
While you cannot customize the “help” link you CAN now add a new custom link to the header which could be used for a “Library Help” button to be added! Please contact email@example.com for assistance!
Turn the Help icon into a drop down menu, allowing users a choice of contacting either Third Iron support or the library for support.6 votes
While you cannot change the BrowZine Help button to go to the library for help. We have added a feature whereby a library can add a new CUSTOM link to the header which could be used to provide a library help option. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get this setup for your library. Thank you for the suggestion!
When a user cannot download an article would it be possible to allow the user to request an ILL from the library via an email1 vote
This feature is now available! If you require this, please contact email@example.com!
The categories are great for our faculties, but for our Digital Library we would like the possibility to show journals from all categories in the widget.2 votes
See rsebek’s solution within the comments of this enhancements. Thanks Robert!
The current widget design is not responsive for viewing on mobile devices.34 votes
Thanks for your patience! The widget has been updated now with a responsive option. Please update your widget code here: http://thirdiron.com/widget if you are interested in the widget on your page being mobile responsive. Thank you!
Is it possible to get a BrowZine widget that's between the 190 and 400 pixel widths. In LibGuides, the 190 looks good in 25% columns, and the 400 fits within 42% and 50% columns. But for 33% columns, the 190 is too narrow and the 400 runs into the next column.2 votes
The marketing widget is now available as “responsive” which should automatically scale to desired widths. Please choose the “100%” responsive view to use this feature. Thank you!
Currently if a title search results in a partial match, it will retrieve journals that are not exactly the one wanted. If this happens, the user will not get the link to search outside of Browzine, and no other options are given. Please add the option to search outside of Browzine when partial matches are retrieved.3 votes
This enhancement is considered completed! The solution here was in the ingestion of all holdings data for a library, even those not covered by BrowZine which was released about 4 months after this request was filed in Feb 2016. However, we have rolled out this enhancement over our hundreds of subscribing libraries over a series of months because of the extra configuration involved but can now say this solution has been implemented. Thank you!
Yesterday I had a presentation of Browzine for our institute of computional engineering. They were positive, but it was mentioned that they miss the opportunity to export into Bibtex. Some of them use the program LaTeX for writing instead of MS Word, and Bibtex is used as bibliographic management system in addition to this.1 vote
This is now available for all articles on BrowZine.com!
The current widget is not accessible without alternative text for the images.2 votes
We have updated our widget to include alternate text for the images – both buttons and the journal images. Please let us know if you have any questions!
It is problematic for us as an academic institution to link to vendor videos that are not accessible for our users.2 votes
Thank you for the suggestion! We have added close captions to our main video which we link to on our home page and via the widget. We’ll look to do this for all future user-facing videos as well!
Some categories have a number of titles, so having the widget intelligently select "top journals" would be great to help promote BrowZine.5 votes
The newest widget does do this (and has for some time but forgot to update this feature request!) Thanks for the suggestion!
Our patrons would like to be able to categorize and sort them, maybe even store them in folders.
And they would like to use tags to label them. And have the possibility to search using those tags.8 votes
With the release of My Articles, users can now save articles in one of many collections. They can also sort those articles by the date added or the journal from which they came. While this does not include the supported “tagging” feature, we are not introducing that at this time so will consider this enhancement completed. Thank you for the suggestion and I hope your users find this useful!
Is it possible to make links to the catalogue context sensitive? For example if a user searched for Incite the link that reads:
Please click here to search for your title again outside of BrowZine.
Or for Mining journal:
This was made available a few months ago – but we neglected to update this! Thank you for the suggestion!
Done! Please see the BOLDED items and NEW! indicators on Bentham Science, Bentham Open, World Scientific and Mark Allen Group which was new since the last posting. Thank you!
I'm going to try the #365papers challenge (for which Browzine is perfect!) but need to add tags before tweeting. At the moment Browzine just tweets, so I have to fiddle around copying the url and title into twitter before posting.1 vote
This is now live in both iOS and Android. Thank you for your suggestion!
Not sure if this is even technically possible, but I've had a request from a prof who wants to build two persistent URLs, one that would behave normally, but a second, which he would include with a mobile icon, that would force a link to open within Browzine, if installed.3 votes
On iOS, you can now click a link from any webpage that points to “browzine://” and it will open the app. Thank you for the suggestion!
Allow control of whether or not the app displays unread counts both in and outside of BrowZine according to user preference.4 votes
Complete now with iOS 9+ which allows for turning on/off notifications outside of BrowZine!
Read by QxMD has it, Docphin has it and i am sure docwise is working on it... I get many questions about the smartphone version AND a web version. It would suit many i believe, even more than a desktop version24 votes
BrowZine Web will begin rolling out to libraries starting Monday, July 20! Please check in with browzine.com starting next week for access. If you don’t see your institution there, they likely have just not been activated yet so please check back in a week or so as activations across all customers is scheduled to take until mid-August. New Update (uploaded today) crashes upon opening in iPad 1. Hope you can fix this soon. I wouldn't like to miss brwzine for a long time!3 votes
Hello! We have found the newest build to have issues for iPad 1 users. A fix has already been made and submitted to the App Store, so please expect to see that in the next days be released from Apple as a an update. Thank you for your patience!
Add NRC Research Press to the service. I'm pretty sure that they are registered with CrossRef (http://www.nrcresearchpress.com/)1 vote
