Add email notifications when a new issue is released for a journal on your bookshelf
Add email notifications when a new issue is released for a journal on your bookshelf. I Currently have to go in and check, so it would be nice if I could be prompted.
thanks,
Jeremy

Good news! This is now on our official roadmap. Stay tuned for more updates!

Hi All,
Thank you for your continued interest in email notifications for BrowZine! This has been a long-standing request from many users and of interest to us as well! We've been silently laying the ground work infrastructure wise behind the scenes on this while delivering other high-impact features and products such as libkeynomad.com and the new libkey.io.
We'll be turning our attention back to this soon and I'll keep this thread updated when I have more concrete information. I'm interested in tackling this in 2021 but I can't guarantee shipment in 2021 yet given the other ambitious plans we have.
Thanks for your continued interest and I'll post again when I know more.
Thank you!

I think we need more votes to make it happen. Somehow this project got tabled and must be buried under a stack of papers! Would be nice if they could make it so!

Any news on this? The feature would be great. Thanks!

Hi Jakob! We are currently planning on this being a late 2020 release, but will hopefully be updating this morning in Q1 2020 as the development calendar comes into better focus. Thanks for asking!

Any news on this? We have a homebrewed email service that replaces eTOCs. I'm thinking of retiring it but need to know more about this plan before I do that.

The ability to receive email alerts will be a game-changer for BrowZine. We regularly have clients requesting this feature as a replacement for eTOCs lists. Such a hassle-free way for busy professionals to remain current within their fields of interest.
Thanks and looking forward to this feature SOON!

e-mail notification is indeed a frequent question in our hospital. I usually point out the notification possibility in the App. If you allow notifications, you get a message on screen saying there is new content from a journal on your bookcase. Not quite the same, I know, but some users are happy with it.

Thanks for your comment! This indeed is still on our roadmap of a feature to build but we opted to focus on additional features ahead of this one in the last year. I'll post an update when this feature becomes part of our near term plans to keep folks updated. Thank you!

What is happening here? I can't see that e-mail alerts/notifications when a new issue is released, is implemented? For our researchers - this is a must!! John, you wrote in September 2017 that "this is on your official roadmap"...

For me, this is an essential feature!

I concur with Peggy, we too have had users reluctant to use Browzine because it did not have email notification. Adding email notification of our TOC's for our users would be fantastic! Cannot wait, hope this happens sooner than later!

The e-mail with information about a new journal issue would then be sent automatically to my registered e-mail-address. It would be even more comfortable to select all journals on my shelf or just some titles in order to subscribe to this alerting service via e-mail.

I've had both students and faculty reluctant to use Browzine because it does not have a "table of contents" or just "new content" alert. The addition of this feature would be very valuable.

I was told by our library that Browzine replaced my old email alert notifications which use to give us the table of contents of a new issue of a journal we were following. I am very disappointed that it does not do this and I also would like this to be sorted as soon as possible please.

I strongly support the idea of email notifications. Otherwise you have to remember to go back in all the time which is not ideal. Possibly a bridge to far but even better for subscribing libraries would be the option to have some custom content at the top of each email that goes out,
Thanks, Rob

Yes. This suggestion expands upon my "create a new issue alert" suggestion.

Please add an option as soon as possible to have current issue table of contents' alerts emailed for journals selected by the patron when a new issue comes out.
