What is a BrowZine Account?

BrowZine Account is used to provide personalization features throughout the BrowZine ecosystem.  Having a BrowZine Account is required for using My Bookshelf and My Articles on all devices as it is used to tie together your different devices so the configuration will sync seamlessly between them.

A BrowZine Account is available on mobile devices for all users with mobile access and at BrowZine.com for libraries who have subscribed to this feature.  If you do not see "My Bookshelf" in the title bar for your library at BrowZine.com, then your library has not yet added this option to their subscription.  If you think this is in error or would like to add this feature, please contact us and we would be happy to assist!

What email can I use to create my BrowZine Account?  Does it matter?

In most cases you can use any email you would like!  For libraries using the BrowZine Pairing Service you may be restricted to using only your university/company email address.  BrowZine will alert you to this fact if you try to use another email at one of these accounts automatically.

My email address has changed. Can I update my existing BrowZine account to use my new email?

Yes! Please contact us and include your account's current email address and the email address you would like to change it to. Our support team can help with updating it in our system.

Do I have to have an account?  Can I use BrowZine at all without one?

No, you do not have to have an account to use BrowZine.  You can still browse the shelves, look up titles, read tables of contents, and download articles.  However, in order to use the personalization feature of My Bookshelf and My Articles, a BrowZine account is required so that we can synchronize and back-up your data across all devices and ensure that we keep your device accurately updated.

How does BrowZine handle other accounts like citation services?

Citation services use credentials via OAuth which means that once you have signed in at the appropriate service site, a secure token from that service is stored within BrowZine so that the app does not need to ask you to manually sign in over and over again.  All of the BrowZine platforms also feature an option to "forget" this token so that BrowZine no longer can auto-sign in to the service when exporting citations.

I'm affiliated with multiple organizations — can I switch between them without affecting the information in my BrowZine account?

Yes!  To do this go to the "Settings" area in BrowZine and tap on the "Change Library" button.  You will then be taken back to the "Choose Your Library" screen in BrowZine.  Simply select the library you would like to access and login!

Because your BrowZine settings are saved to your BrowZine account switching accounts will not affect your saved account settings like bookshelves and articles.
